RTX485 RTX485 card

RS232 to RS422 / RS485 Converter

The ISA based RTX485 board allows you to use your existing COM1 and/or COM2 ports to communicate using the RS-485 and RS-422 standards. This inexpensive card provides a convenient and cost effective way to get your PC onto the factory floor.

The RTX485 board also provides an inexpensive solution for analyzing asynchronous RS-485/422 serial communications data when it is used in conjuction with COMLAB, Realtime Control's software-based Serial Communications Protocol Analyzer.

Cables that attach to headers on the RTX485 board are passed through the backplane of the PC where they can be plugged into your existing COM ports. The RTX485 converts the RS-232 data to the differential 5-Volt signals required in many industrial environments. The RS-485 signals appear at the dual DB9 connectors located on the edge of the card. Each port can be custom wired via a jumper block, allowing the RTX's DB-9 connectors to be configured for your application.

RTX-X1 RTX-X1 card

RS232 <=> RS485 Converter

A modification of the original RTX485, the PCI based X1 provides a convenient method of converting a single PC COM port to the RS-422 and RS-485 standards. One DB-9 port of the X1 is a female DCE connector and the other is a DB-9 male DTE.

With a simple straight-thru cable connecting your COM port to the X1's female DCE port, you can transmit and receive asynchronous data at the male DTE port.
